Vogelsberg County (Hessen)
Vogelsberg County - the Hessian Tuscany - is Europe's biggest volcano. The attractive landscape is defined by the change of rough basaltic rocks and horizontal lines that smoothly flow into each other giving the impression of a Tuscan scenery. Medieval town centres characterize the way of life.
In 1991 Oberhavel county signed a partnership agreement with the Vogelsberg county in Hesse. The aim of this partnership was to promote the German reunification on a communal level. Both districts benefited from the numerous contacts, especially during the regular and lively youth exchanges.
In 2016 we will celebrate 25 years of partnership with Vogelsberg county.
